Paleo kids

Cooking for kids is tricky.  The paleo recipe scene is full of curries, spicy crockpot meals, texture explosions that are delicious to adult palates, but will create stress at a dinner table containing younger audience.  After a year of experimenting, getting support from other bloggers and learning, I am finally getting to be a successful primal mama!  Here are some pointers

  • Paleo for kids - my discussion of successful approaches to putting together a kid-friendly meal plan
  • Healthy eating is healthy living is a public appeal to my husband in my parenting blog to endorse the journey of a healthier lifestyle
  • Browse Kid-tested recipes including chicken nuggets, quick snacks, deserts and lunchbox ideas
  • I blog about parenting issues that are not primarily paleo-related at ParentingIs...

Paleo kids, parents and pregnancy are topics that have not seen a lot of coverage in the blogosphere, but that's been changing. More and more parents are sharing their wonderful experiences in raising what my family calls "cave babies."  Please leave a comment to be included.

  • Peggy at the Primal Parent is my new source of inspiration: "To be successful we have to retrain our brains to disassociate food with pain and fun. We no longer go out to ice cream to cheer up, or to the bakery to start the day off right. We learn to find other reasons to laugh, other sources to comfort us in pain, and another focus for gatherings with friends."
  • Lindsey at Enjoying Healthy Foods, a mom of two and a heavy blogger with a focus toward quick and easy recipes. She won't make you feel guilty about stacking up on snack bars or being in a rut. Her variety of posts on baby food will be useful, should our family expand again!
  • Paleo Mama offers fast and simple recipes. She says: "I want to make sure that you are not intimidated by cooking... Just remember, don’t be afraid!  This can really be fun." I have to try out her paleo brownies!
  • Paleo on a budget is a blog that will make you think twice about grabbing that extra snackable you did not need at the grocery store. Read and learn, and enjoy eating. Anne is a single mom of two who finds time to cook paleo, shop frugally and share her advice. She taught me to experiment get the kids eating and to beware of grocery store tricks.
  • Paleo parents is a beautiful blog, full of pictures (recipes, kids, recipes on kids!) that also makes the point: paleo does not have to be hard. It is as much a parenting blog as a paleo one, featuring the rare treat: a stay-at-home dad! And if you ever wondered how you would give up those cupcakes, you gotta check out Paleo German Chocolate Balls.  Do bring the paper towels!
  • Primal kitchen, or "Paleo Grokumentary" as they call themselves is an inspiration for anyone who is faced with packing a lunch box, making creative meals, offering variety to the little ones.
In order to avoid blogging taking over my life, I am adding just one entry at a time. There is a long list of people I have found to come! Please check back. Or help me out by leaving a comment with a blurb about a paleo kids - worthy blog - I'll integrate it!
